Let the games begin!

I love me some challenges! And now that Survivor is in full swing over at Tallyscrapper.com I will have several weeks of challenges to compete in. There's 2 teams playing for Bragging rights of being the best scrapbookers on the face of this planet...well at least at TallyScrapper

There's Team Russell, aka "the dark side" and then there's the BEST TEAM, Team ROB, known simply as the "BEST TEAM!" LOL

So each Wednesday we receive a challenge for the contest and our first challenge is this...

Challenge #1:

It's a desert island...Your photos are the island and this layout requires alot of white space!

Everyone is cramped together on the island so your layout must have a picture of 2 or more people.

Colors: TAN/Brown  for sand and BLUE to represent the water.

On Survivor everything is put to use this layout needs to have at least 2 staples and a piece of recycled scrap packaging.

Requirements Summary:
Must have WHITE SPACE or NEGATIVE SPACE

Must have at least one Photo with MORE than one person in it.

Must have Tan/Brown AND Blue!

Must have at least 2 staples and a piece of recycled scrapbook packaging.

So here is my layout using the above instructions.
Center Stage

This is my daughter Leia in her first modeling gig. She loved being center stage! LOL

These 2 photos show the close up of the staples I used on the ribbon trim. I stapled in between each flourish. And the recycled packaging I used was Prima. I sewed some fabric to the packaging to make a mat. I also used some more Prima packaging (the blue scallops) on the side of the mat and photos.
I adore these letters from Sassafras...they have a bit of glitter on them which gives them a little "POP" effect.
This chandelier die cut was made from my Silhouette machine. I out a little bit of glitter on the flames for show.

So if your like me and love challenges hop on over to Tallyscrapper and play along or watch as the 2 teams battle it out each week. See ya at Tally!

Sparkle and Shine

My latest layout using up old border stickers around the edge of my cardstock. I can't believe it only took me 30 mins to create this layout...which is unheard of for me!

I just love Glitter and all things shiney!!

I just love the effect of the green glittered tulle behind this photo. I wish I could
remember where I got it from but can't at the moment. I want to think it either
came for a TallyScrapper kit or another kit club that I was a member of a long
time ago. Anyway, I love using up my scraps and this was a perfect item to
show some sparkle and shine. I also used glittery border stickers and stars
that I attached with my mini stapler that I got when we lived in Italy years and
years ago...sorry Tim Holtz I thought of the tiny attacher before you! LOL

This is my daughter Lily doing her daily chore of brushing her pearly whites.

Close up the layers of border stickers.

Well I've done it!

I finally opened up my own ETSY Store!!!

It's called THE PEACH PALACE!

For those of you not familiar with Etsy.com, it's an online shopping center that has all HANDMADE products,
which is really cool because you can finds some  unique "one of kind" gift ideas there. It's so cool to buy handcraft products too. Most of the shops are from the USA...buy USA it helps our great country keep on keepin' on!

In my shop you'll find mostly paper items like; hand crafted cards, die cut Word Art, Christmas Tags for right now. Later I hope to make some premade scrapbook pages, diecut borders and examples of how I used these products on my Scrapbook pages, crochet items, and maybe some sewn items.

I started this little store because so many people asked me where I got my diecuts...so I figured I would offer them for sale. I have a Cricut and a  Silhouette machine that cuts all my dies...some I get from the Silhouette store, Cricut cartridges and others I make myself.

So hop on over to THE PEACH PALACE and see if there's anything there you's like. I'd love to hear  you type of scrappy productsyou would like to see in my store. I'm happy to try and make specific items for you.

Thanks for popping in!

Scrapfit workout #30 Color me Happy

This month at Scrapfit we had a color challenge...see workout #30 here.
I want to see lime green, orange, purple and black! Use cardstock in one of those colors!
Little Black Dress Kit Club is our sponsor and they are giving away this awesome kit full of yummy goodies!

And now for my layout using these fabulous color combos...which of course screams Halloween to me!

I used my Silhouette Machine to make the banner and the bats. The papers and all the other elements come from an old kit that I got at Tally scrapper. Which was on sale at the time...got it at a super great savings. Check out Tally's monthly kits here. The kit had a cute Halloween stamps set in it from Making Memories and I used it for the witches feet sticking out from my title block.

Thanks for Stopping by and I hope you all have great Spooky Halloween!

The 2nd item is the days of the week stickers...I got them from an old package of my Birth control pill!! Been saving the stickers for years now hoping to use it on a page.

Close up of the K & Co packaging.

ScrapFIT workout #27

Here's the new ScrapFit workout for September 1st. I just love this sketch... it's so cute! One thing I really like about it is, that it gives you the perfect opportunity to use up your old scraps. And that's just what I did here. Lots of scraps that was sitting in a pile on my desk! They needed to be put to better use then hanging out on my desk. LOL

#27 Get Your Sketch On---a sketch challenge. Use the sketch below to create a LO. Take this simple sketch and do something to WOW US! This sketch came from Sassy Lil Sketches.

Our Sponsor this month is:
 Paper Trunk

Here's my take on the sketch:

My Crazy SON Seth! He always makes funny faces. I gotta get the silly's out of him before I can get a good shot! LOL

I love the ribbon here...it matched perfectly with my color choices.
I used chalk inks and glittery embossing powders on the arrow. I like the way it turned out. I also stamped the frame around the photo with a border stamp.

Thanks for looking and I hope you join ScrapFIT in the new challenges for September. See ya at the Blog!

ScrapFIT workouts #25 and #26

First workout #26:
For this workout I want you to dress up your LO, card or altered art. Use your bling, your sparkle and your shine! Also use some black since The Little Black Dress Kit Club is our sponsor.

Here's my take on this challenge:

My daughter Leia, all dressed up ready for school when we lived in Iowa. It was the first snow day of the season. She looks so lovely in her new jacket with the snow falling all around her...ooh la la so beautiful!

I used some of that fabulous swirly BLING for Jolee in black. Flower from Petaloo, silver swirl bling from Prima, and Ooh la la title is from my old stash it's a Heidi Swapp product called Silhouettes.

Here's another close up of the Prima bling and Ooh la la title.

The "Beautiful" letters are from Cosmo Cricket line called High Noon. I thought it went well with the Bo Bunny papers called Mama-Razzi.

Journaling spot is part of my old stash from My Minds Eye called Daily Dose. I used a white sharpie to write on the black board...looks just like chalk, doesn't it?

ScrapFit Workout #25:
"WET-n-WILD" for this workout you need to use mist, paint, stickles, ink---any or all of them!! For an added twist I want you to get some paper wet, create something with it and than use it in your LO. Example—make a flower, fold it, pleat it, ect.

So here's my take on the challenge:

I used some old tracing paper I had, wet it with Blue and Green Glimmer Mist, crumbled it, ripped it, and stuck it down with Mod Podge to give it a water effect like the photo.

Photo info: This is my daughter Tess when she was 5, when we were on vacation to Florida. It was a perfect lazy day of summer photo, sitting in the water at Lake Blue soaking in the sun and cooling off in the water. This was one of the most relaxing time for our whole family. Miss Florida weather so much.

Close up of the under water scene, The fish are from K & Company, the sea weed I cut out from my Silhouette Die Cutter, and the bubble dots are from Cloud 9. I love the water look of the tracing paper here.

The blue glittery swirls are from Jolee stickers, All that Bling.

Hope you enjoy my lastest layouts for ScrapFit. Be sure to check it out to see what workout we're on so you can enter the challenge thread.
