Scrapfit workout #30 Color me Happy

This month at Scrapfit we had a color challenge...see workout #30 here.
I want to see lime green, orange, purple and black! Use cardstock in one of those colors!
Little Black Dress Kit Club is our sponsor and they are giving away this awesome kit full of yummy goodies!

And now for my layout using these fabulous color combos...which of course screams Halloween to me!

I used my Silhouette Machine to make the banner and the bats. The papers and all the other elements come from an old kit that I got at Tally scrapper. Which was on sale at the time...got it at a super great savings. Check out Tally's monthly kits here. The kit had a cute Halloween stamps set in it from Making Memories and I used it for the witches feet sticking out from my title block.

Thanks for Stopping by and I hope you all have great Spooky Halloween!

ScrapFIT workout #27

Here's the new ScrapFit workout for September 1st. I just love this sketch... it's so cute! One thing I really like about it is, that it gives you the perfect opportunity to use up your old scraps. And that's just what I did here. Lots of scraps that was sitting in a pile on my desk! They needed to be put to better use then hanging out on my desk. LOL

#27 Get Your Sketch On---a sketch challenge. Use the sketch below to create a LO. Take this simple sketch and do something to WOW US! This sketch came from Sassy Lil Sketches.

Our Sponsor this month is:
 Paper Trunk

Here's my take on the sketch:

My Crazy SON Seth! He always makes funny faces. I gotta get the silly's out of him before I can get a good shot! LOL

I love the ribbon here...it matched perfectly with my color choices.
I used chalk inks and glittery embossing powders on the arrow. I like the way it turned out. I also stamped the frame around the photo with a border stamp.

Thanks for looking and I hope you join ScrapFIT in the new challenges for September. See ya at the Blog!

ScrapFIT workouts #25 and #26

First workout #26:
For this workout I want you to dress up your LO, card or altered art. Use your bling, your sparkle and your shine! Also use some black since The Little Black Dress Kit Club is our sponsor.

Here's my take on this challenge:

My daughter Leia, all dressed up ready for school when we lived in Iowa. It was the first snow day of the season. She looks so lovely in her new jacket with the snow falling all around her...ooh la la so beautiful!

I used some of that fabulous swirly BLING for Jolee in black. Flower from Petaloo, silver swirl bling from Prima, and Ooh la la title is from my old stash it's a Heidi Swapp product called Silhouettes.

Here's another close up of the Prima bling and Ooh la la title.

The "Beautiful" letters are from Cosmo Cricket line called High Noon. I thought it went well with the Bo Bunny papers called Mama-Razzi.

Journaling spot is part of my old stash from My Minds Eye called Daily Dose. I used a white sharpie to write on the black board...looks just like chalk, doesn't it?

ScrapFit Workout #25:
"WET-n-WILD" for this workout you need to use mist, paint, stickles, ink---any or all of them!! For an added twist I want you to get some paper wet, create something with it and than use it in your LO. Example—make a flower, fold it, pleat it, ect.

So here's my take on the challenge:

I used some old tracing paper I had, wet it with Blue and Green Glimmer Mist, crumbled it, ripped it, and stuck it down with Mod Podge to give it a water effect like the photo.

Photo info: This is my daughter Tess when she was 5, when we were on vacation to Florida. It was a perfect lazy day of summer photo, sitting in the water at Lake Blue soaking in the sun and cooling off in the water. This was one of the most relaxing time for our whole family. Miss Florida weather so much.

Close up of the under water scene, The fish are from K & Company, the sea weed I cut out from my Silhouette Die Cutter, and the bubble dots are from Cloud 9. I love the water look of the tracing paper here.

The blue glittery swirls are from Jolee stickers, All that Bling.

Hope you enjoy my lastest layouts for ScrapFit. Be sure to check it out to see what workout we're on so you can enter the challenge thread.

Yeah! It's Party Time at ScrapFIT!

Bet you had a ball partying it up with LJ...she's the greatest! And one awesome Scrapper! She's the one that got me hooked on ScrapFIT! Here's hoping that ScrapFIT will be a frequent stop for you too.

Well, now it's my turn to rave about the party!
First, a big CONGRATULATIONS To ScrapFIT and Kelly on their 1st Birthday!

And Second, a big Happy Birthday to ME! Yep that's right today is my Birthday and I won't tell you how old I am. First Birthday's are always better the "Old girl" Birthday! Hee hee!

ScrapFit is an awesome blog with the coolest of challenges and prizes. It's a must for all Scrapbookers who like to take on a challenge.

And speaking of challenges...Kelly even challenged her Design Team to make a layout for the celebration. Here's the challenge and the layout I created for it.
  • Every party needs cards so use cardstock for your background!
  • Wrap that present really good--use some bright and colorful pp.
  •  Don't forget ur bow---use some ribbon
  •  Since it is our 1 year Anniversary lets see 1 photo, 1 button, 1 brad, 1 rubon and 1 embossed item.
  •  I love confetti so let's mist that LO like confetti falling!

This is my daughter Tess at the pool. She's on the swim team and lived at the pool this summer. Look how darn tan she is! Wish I could tan like her!

I was selected to be the teams photographer. It was quite a challenge to take photos of over 50 kids, team and individuals shots...then edit, upload, sort, and deliver them all myself! But I did it and I think the photos look pretty darn good even if I say so myself! LOL

Hope you enjoy my layout and most importantly that you too take on the challenges at ScrapFIT. If you do, you have a chance to win a prize by becoming a follower and doing the Scavenger Hunt! So go check it out here!

We have some fabulous sponsors!
And now for a little Birthday give-away from me.

How about this cute 6x6 purple mini album from Creative Memories.

It's still in the package and has a swirly star on the front. To win you must become a follower and leave me a comment about what you would like to do on your next Birthday.

So Happy Birthday scrapFIT and Happy Hoppin' to all my scrappy friends!

The next party blogger on the list is Norine!
So hop on over to check out her Festive Flare!

Thanks for stopping by!

ScrapFIT woorkout #21 Use your Machines

Okay so I created another layout for ScrapFIT. I just had to share this layout. The reason? Well, I wanted to share one of the most fabulous features of the Silhouette Die Cutting Machine. If you will look at the sign on the right hand side of my layout...I was able to print the journaling straight from my Silhouette on to the sign! Is that not the coolest thing ever?

Originally I hand wrote my journaling and messed up. Don't ya just hate that? So I went back to my Silhouette and did the journaling in the software program, printed it with my printer, (yes the Silhouette has a print feature built in) then I put the same paper in my machine and it cut around the edges. The Silhouette prints out registration marks so that the machine will read those marks and knows where to cut.

It fit perfectly in my sign and covered up my horrible mistake. This is just another one of those great features that Silhouette Machine offers.

Close up of my handmade flowers. The clip board and film reel are also die cuts from the Silhouette. The photos here aren't all that great. Some kind lady at the theater took them for me. It was so dark the photos didn't turn out that well and I had to touch them up in PSE 6 the beat I could.

Here is a close up of the journaling block a created with my Silhouette Machine. I downloaded the Shrek font from the internet, added lines to the inside and cut it out with the machine. It fit inside perfectly. In this case I preferred computer journaling over my handwriting because I was able to squeeze in more words.

Another ScrapFIT challenge layout!!

ScrapFIT challenge for the month is:

WORKOUT #21
“Exercise Machines”
For this challenge you must use a “machine”.
What machines you might ask?
Punches, Cuttlebug, Sizzix, Slice, Cricut—any or all will do.

Here is my 2nd layout for this challenge.

Me & My Baby Girl

I used my Silhouette machine to make the "baby girl" title.

Here's a close up of the title.

This chipboard border is from Maya Road. I painted it with Gesso and then sprayed it with Green Meadow Glimmer mist. I love the distressed look on it.

This layout was created from the products I received in my Tallyscrapper kit for June. You gotta check out this kit.

Challenges, Challenges, Challenges

Love me some scrapbooking challenges. I found an awesome blog called ScrapFIT that offers some very interesting challenges to get your creativity on and they have wonderful give-aways too!

Once a month ScrapFIT has 1 main challenge and then during the same month they post 2 more mini challenges. So if you are looking for some fabulous scrapbooking challenges you most check out ScrapFIT. This month challenge is:

WORKOUT #21
“Exercise Machines”

Did she say MACHINE????!!! Well, I'm happy to say that my all time favorite scrapbooking medium is my Silhouette Die Cutting Machine. I use it on most of my layouts! So here is my layout I'm submitting:
I used my Silhouette to cut out the Yellow paper border.

Ranger Wives: These Photo was taken back in 1992 when my husband Greg, was an Army Ranger Instructor at Camp Rudder located at Eglin AFB, Florida. Every year the Ranger hosted a Ranger's Wives Swap walk. They would take us out in the swamp and show us how to do their jobs. Of course we wives like to ham it up by dressing to look just like our men! We even imitated them with the “SNUFF look” in our mouths. The Rangers took us out in zodiacs, taught us about the wildlife, had us repelling, shoot their weapons, and even eat their nasty MRE's, it was so much fun, except eating the food! Yuck! I loved dressing up in Greg's Uniform. All my friends told me that I was the only one
that could make a Ranger's fatigues look feminine! That was my greatest contribution!

I made these flowers and leaves using a new technique
I've been trying out. I hope to make a video showing how I made them in a few days.

Love these Green Corrugated Letters from Jellibean soup. They add so much dimension! Also love the cute frilly pink gingham trim. All these products came in my June Tallyscrapper kit.
